PLEASED TO MEET YOU

I developed a love of poetry in my early teens. It amazed me the way a few well-chosen words could resonate with so many people on different levels. I wanted to be able to evoke feelings with my words. But more importantly, I wanted to release the emotions I had bottled up inside myself. Writing became my therapy. The fear, anger, guilt, sorrow, lost some of its hold on me, its impact, when I put the feelings into words and laid them down onto paper.

Writing allows me to process the events in my life and release my emotions. It also helps me focus more on the beauty and sound around me. I look longer and listen harder when I am trying to reduce the sights and sounds to words that will convey the feelings to others.

I retired from a rewarding career as a nurse in long-term care to relax, write, and enjoy time with family. Along with my books, my poetry has been published by the Red River Review, the Oyez Review, and The Lake UK. My fiction has been published by Epiphany, Rosebud, and Ruminate magazines.

I am the mother of two sons and three daughters, the grandmother of six, and the wife of a wonderful man. I live in the country with my husband, where my life reveals more blessings than my heart can hold.
